This Valentine's Day Date The One Who Needs Love The Most - Yourself

And why even on typical and steady days, choose to make yourself happy.

It's that time of the year again where you see almost everyone around coupled and in love. The whole lot of posts you scroll on your newsfeed are those sweet Valentine's Day messages, chocolate hearts, and bouquets of red roses.

Consequently, you ended up with that atomic feeling of disgust while uplifting yourself with, "Ma decay ra gyod tang tanan". But, you also have this tiny sparkling twist of faith and all you hear is yourself saying, "Sana All".

If you find yourself dreading noticing happy couples - don't. You can be happy, too. If you want to. Give yourself a break. Be gentle. There's a lot of things you can do to spend quality time with yourself. It's for you to find out!

On dating and relationships, the right person is someone for you not to hunt but for God to reveal in time you are most ready. Don't feel embarrassed or self-pity for the things you have no control. Therefore, treat yourself now and go have your nails or your hair done.

Okay. So, you hear almost all people in your class making a lot of fuss about what to do on February 14. Or maybe you overhear someone talking about their plans with their partners afterwork. You can't help not to pay attention to a friend asking you on where's the most romantic place to go. And you just sit there waiting for the vibe and hype to end.

Sometimes, you joke about Valentine's Day like you don't care because it's a normal day for you. But deep inside, you do. And there's that itchy feeling in your heart. You just bury and conceal your melancholies behind those shared memes, like you're okay with receiving nothing when you're actually not.

I think it's time for you to take a chance. Take this oppprtunity to date yourself even when you don't feel expressing it to your wounded and broken being. It's time to delight yourself in a peaceful beach view restaurant.

I know you've already heard this for more than a dozen times: "Love yourself first before you love others". But, despite how cliché it may sound, sometimes a simple affection and appreciation of your own character and identity, can save you in moments of a great downfall. That kindness you give to yourself will help you to recuperate quickly from all kinds of torment and uncertainty.

It's those little life victories that will help you to keep going.

And one day, just like that . . .

You'll reclaim the hidden strength of a warrior in you. You'll welcome back the power of a champion you once were. You'll clasp again the grace and radiance that was snatched away from you.

In just a snap, the whole battle will change.

That version of you right now wasn't built 24-hours. It was made out of experience. Bounded with pain. Stitched with insecurities. Edged with abuse. Framed with depression. You went through a lot of things to grow into who you are now. And that's something you need to celebrate. Maybe you can reward yourself with a trip ticket to a place you've never been. Book that trip now or never!

You don't have to wait for someone to come along and pick you up, with flowers and chocolates in his hands, for you to enjoy the atmosphere this heart season. You are a worthwhile human being right now who deserves all the love in this world. And you only need to give it to yourself.

Do it now.

Do it after class. And watch that movie on cinemas! Do it after work. Do it because it makes you feel like a superstar who has the privilege with a VIP pass of life's extravanganza. Do it after shift. And go watch the sunrise like you've never done it in your whole life.

The idea may seem strange and funny, but really, there is this certain power and freedom in being alone and enjoying yourself, without having any regrets. Realize that the value of self-love should extend beyond self-care, outside those four corners. And it can also happen elsewhere.

My friend, always choose to make yourself happy. If you won't do it, who else will?
